The Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Halo Al-Askari, inaugurated the Technology Incubator and the 7th edition of the Job and Innovation Fair at the Middle Technical University, in the presence of academics, students, and stakeholders in the scientific and technological sectors.
During a tour of the exhibition halls, the Minister reviewed a range of entrepreneurial projects, scientific innovations, and patents presented by students and researchers, praising the university’s academic level, as well as the efforts of its faculty and students.
In a press conference, the Minister reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to fostering a sustainable environment for creativity in universities by enhancing research capabilities and directing them toward producing practical solutions that meet societal needs and align with sustainable development goals.
The Minister also highlighted the importance of such events in bridging the gap between academic outputs and the labor market, noting their role in developing students’ skills in line with the requirements of the knowledge economy.
This initiative comes as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to support innovation and entrepreneurship, and to empower students and researchers to transform their ideas into practical projects that contribute to Iraq’s economic and technological development.
